Immunization:

All studies were approved by Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine’s IACUC and animals were maintained in a NIH/AAALAC-approved facility. Chronic EAE was induced in 8-12 week old female C57BL/6 mice by subcutaneous immunization with 200µL of 200µg MOG₃₅₅₅ with complete Freund’s adjuvant. Pertussis toxin (500ng) (List Biological Laboratories, Campbell, CA) was injected IP at 0 and 2 days. Animals were sacrificed at Day 35 by transcardial perfusion with 4% paraformaldehyde. Animals were graded according to a standard clinical index: 1=limp tail; 2=hind limb weakness; 3=one limb plegic; 4=plegia of 2 limbs; 5=moribund or dead.
